This year has heralded a new direction for Mandy Rowe. Searching local op shops for doilies, lace table-clothes and silk scarves has become the new past-time for this Gippsland artist. Using traditional felting techniques Mandy incorporates these op shop treasures into exquisite wraps and handbags that are textured, colourful and abounding in memories. she calls these heirloom shawls and memory handbags. 2009 has also been a year of teaching women from San Francisco to Sale these innovative felting techniques. 2010 will be a year devoted more to teaching others the benefits and joys of creativity. Workshops tailored to individuals, groups and women's retreats both in Australia and overseas will be available.
